How do you get to your tour?
Check out the information on our Getting Here page for details of the different travel options.
Can I bring water?
YES! Absolutely. We do not have running water at the facility so we encourage you to bring along a bottle of water with you for the tour, especially on hot days.
Will I get wet?
There is a very slight possibility that a rogue splash could throw a small amount of water up the side of the raft. Most of our guests do not get wet at all. Please let your raft guide know your preference and they can try to avoid the splashes for you.
Can I use my camera?
YES! Many of our guests bring along their phone or camera to take photos during their tour. Make sure you hang onto it as the river can sometimes be a little bit bumpy. Remember to tag @BanffRaftTours when you share your photos.
What should I wear?
Dress for the weather of the day. We recommend warm casual clothing and we will issue life jackets for each passenger to wear. We also recommend bringing sunscreen. Our new Safety Practices also require you to bring alone a face mask/covering for you to wear whenever you are within two meters of someone outside your traveling group.
Will I be rowing?
Lucky for you, our energetic raft guides will do all the rowing for the trip. All you need to do is sit back and enjoy the ride!
Do I need a face-mask?
Yes. We ask that all guests bring their own face mask/covering for the trip. You will be asked to wear it whenever you are within two meters of anyone not in your traveling group. Please see our Safety Practices page for more information.
How long is the tour?
You will spend 50-60 minutes on the water, depending on the flow of the river. The bus trip back will last 10-15 minutes and drop you back at the launch site.
Can I drive to the launch site?
Yes! We have a large car park at the launch site. Out return bus will take you from the end of your tour back to your car. Please see out Getting Here page for driving instructions.
How do I get back?
Your float trip will take you from our launch site down the Bow River to our take-out point at the end of the golf course. Our bus will then pick you up and take you back to the launch site.
